Demonstration Forest Workshop
Take your Hills&Streets Skills to the Next Level!
Service Description
Seymour Demonstration Forest Multi-Use Trail is a 20km (10km one-way) linear paved pathway through the North Vancouver mountain forest that offers a variety of slope conditions to practice your Outdoor Hills & Streets Skill-set. This long and wide path allows for the space and time needed to really hone in your skills and apply new methods for downhill rollerskating. It is my hope to get everyone comfortable with the first half of the pathway so that they may work towards going the full distance before the end of fall! Completing the full trail is a considerable feat and garners a true sense of accomplishment! This workshop will build off our previous Outdoor Hills&Streets Skill-set and integrate a new way to enjoy downhill cruising. We will go as far as the group is able to go, therefore, it would be wise to sign up with folks that skate at your level in order to get the most out of the workshop. Itinerary: 1. We will meet in the parking lot at the end of Lillooet Rd. 2. We will have a quick stretch and then gear up. 3. We will review skills and I will introduce new technique. 4. We will go as far along the pathway as we can! I would advise against the use of Road Hog Wheels for this particular path - you will gain far too much speed and not be able to control your downhill maneuvers. Road Hogs are meant for flat, level pathways used to gain speed; You will find them terrifying if you wear them for the Demo Forest Pathway. Please bring adequately-sized toe stops, we will be using them! Please bring a backpack, at least 2 bottles of water and some snacks. There are no amenities along this path other than the occasions outhouse or bench. The pathway is well shaded however it can get hot so I would recommend bringing a hat. I would also recommend full gear, however, it will be up to you to decide. I will set up group chats in WhatsApp (or perhaps Discord) once registration is full for each date. Super Pumped to Shred (and "Bomb Hills") with You All!
